Bullying and discrimination is often the result when children are perceived as different from their peers. Unwritten rules – norms – state how you should look, act and think in order to fit into a group. These norms do not rise from nothing, they are created in the meeting between people, both children and adults. We are all creators. In collaboration with the nonprofit children’s rights organization Friends, we have illustrated a new painting- We Are All Different. This painting helps children realize, from an early age, that we are all different from each other, but nonetheless of equal worth. We want this painting to inspire and enable children and adults to recognize, turn upside down, challenge and above all, change the norms that are the reason for discrimination and bullying. We are all creators of these – then we actually have the possibility to change them. Together with our children, let us create a new norm that states: We Are All Different! Kunskapstavlan® is produced on eco friendly matte premium paper that is age-resistant and certified with the EU Ecolabel and the FSC forest management certification.
